The Mozambican Lifestyle

Imagine being awakened by the haunting cry of an African Fish Eagle as it circles the deep blue lagoon looking for its prey. Step out onto your patio and be entranced by the view of this natural wonder, which is fringed by the powder soft white beach sand, a couple of steps away from your patio.

Breakfast is enjoyed alfresco, seated on your patio to benefit from the gentle breeze. Perhaps it will also include freshly baked bread purchased from the local baker in Bilene! After breakfast the day is yours to explore. If you own a fishing boat or jet ski you can simply walk down to the water’s edge directly in front of your unit and start it up. Only your resort provides you with the privilege of being able to moor your fishing boat in the lagoon overnight. For non boat owners there is a local company that provides full day fishing charters for offshore fishing.

Enhanced by a Luxury Resort

Alternatively step onto the beach and take a gentle stroll to the Entertainment Centre. Here there is a small gymnasium at your disposal to maintain your fitness routine or alternatively take a plunge into the infinity pool and complete a few laps. The beach beckons for the sun worshipper, whilst there is a volley ball net and kayaks available to explore the lagoon for the more active. To refresh yourself, swim in the lagoon or immerse yourself in the pool. In fact pool life can also equate with a social life.

There is a nifty dry bar available to use. Stock the fridge with all your favourite tipples and spend the day lazing in the cool water of the pool. Simply swim up to the bar counter and indulge – obviously your family and friends will have to take turns in being “bar tender”! Away from the beach, challenge other members of your family to a round of Adventure Putt Putt or any of the games available in the games room. As the day draws to an end it is naturally the time for sundowners.

Toast the setting sun from your patio or in the pool. For dinner you have the advantage of a fully equipped kitchen or built in braai to whip up something delicious, or why not visit one of the 10 restaurants and bars in Bilene town for fresh fish, prawns or a Prego steak. At the weekends the bars buzz with music and dancing – ask for a bottle of Mozambique’s most popular beer: 2M (pronounces as “dosh M”). Once back in your holiday home, relax in your lounge and watch DStv to catch up on the latest news and sports or watch a movie, before retiring to the comfort of your bedroom, reflecting on another day happily spent in your very own Mozambican getaway.

Its yours to enjoy!
