Apart from the usual political posturing between the supporters of rival political parties, the build up to Mozambique’s Presidential Elections has progressed peacefully with all sides of the political spectrum having had equal opportunity to campaign throughout the country. In reality, Mozambique’s next president will either be from the ruling Frelimo party or the main opposition party, Renamo. Mozambicans go to the polls this Wednesday (15 October 2014), with the entire process being under the watchful eye of a team of international observers. Regardless as to who wins, it is expected that Mozambique will continue to openly encouraging private inbound investment to grow the economy.
