Driving in Mozambique

Driving in Mozambique may be different from what you’re used to. Things will soon be different – especially in Maputo as almost two thirds of the Maputo Ring Road(excluding the new bridges) is now complete, according to Paulo Fumane, chairperson of Maputo-Sul, the state company in charge of the construction. The Ring Road will be 74km long and is budgeted at USD315 million. The contractor is the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). Parts of the road are already open to traffic.

In general, remember that when travelling in Mozambique you will need to carry your cars registration papers or if you are paying off a vehicle, you will need a letter of permission from the bank.
