Acutely aware of the importance of tourism towards its Gross Domestic Product, Mozambique will celebrate the annual World Tourism Day, on Sunday 27th September. In line with this year’s theme: “Billion tourists, Billion Opportunities” events will be held throughout the country and will see the sale of hand made products, traditional dances, sports events and tourism related lectures”. For Gaza Province, within which Bilene lies, festivities will take place at Nhabanga, just south of Xai-Xai and will be attended by the province’s governor.
