When driving through Mozambique please remember that every Mozambican Police Officer is under strict instructions to issue a receipt to any motorists who they fine for a traffic infringement. There is no exception to this rule: if the police official refuses to issue you with a receipt, you are not obliged to pay the fine. Another advantage of having a receipt is that it allows the motorist to take corrective action if they feel that the fine they were issued with is not legal.
